Romano first travelled to Australia in February 1967 as an officer on the M.V. Achille Lauro and Angelina Lauro. He spent the next few years cruising between Europe and Australasia.
In 1971 on a voyage from England he met his future wife, Anne. Later on July 27th 1972 he permanently moved to Australia and he and Anne were later married.
Romano opened his first business in November 1991. Located in Mount Gravatt East, he began a tradition which had seen his name travel as far as New Zealand, where two train passengers, meeting quite by chance, discovered they shared a common interest in that they both enjoyed his pizzas.
Now at his new location at Eight Mile Plains, and with his old friend Franco, Romano looks forward to bringing his food to an even wider audience through his takeaway and Bella Napoli (Beautiful Naples) restaurant.
Romano takes his own mothers recipes, adds a twist, and serves meals which have a distinctive taste of his home town Naples, Italy.
Romano looks forward to seeing you in the future and sharing his own taste of Italia!
